Getting Started

CRAFT is a CAD add-in for Revit and Civil 3D that lets you turn common design tasks into self-contained, versioned automations. Describe what you need, show an example, or use a guided form — then review the draft, validate it through the Gate, and run it locally inside your CAD host.

Local execution only. CRAFT automations run on your machine, inside your CAD host. Cloud services provide artifact registry, licensing, and signing only. No automations execute on our servers.

What CRAFT Is

CRAFT is a trusted automation add-in for AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) professionals. It works inside supported CAD hosts — currently Autodesk Revit 2024+ and Civil 3D 2024+.

You describe what you need in plain language or use a guided form. CRAFT creates a reviewable automation draft, validates it through a mandatory safety gate, and runs it locally. The result is a repeatable, versioned artifact you can re-run, export, and share with your team.

Quick Path to First Run

  1. Install CRAFT as a host add-in for Revit or Civil 3D
  2. Activate your license — machine-bound, works offline for up to 7 days
  3. Create your first automation — pick a host, pick a task, and describe or configure it
  4. Review the Preview/Validate Gate — see dependencies, inputs, outputs, and egress disclosure
  5. Run locally — execution happens inside your CAD host, on your machine

Key Principles

  • Multiple authoring paths. Describe a task in plain language or use a guided form. Every path produces the same reviewable draft.
  • Draft-first. Everything starts as a reviewable draft. CRAFT never takes autonomous action — you review before it runs.
  • Mandatory Gate. Before any consequential operation — run, export, import, or publish — CRAFT shows you what will happen and requires acknowledgment.
  • Immutable artifacts. Once an automation is published, it cannot be changed. Updates require a new version.
  • No hidden egress. No data leaves your machine without your explicit acknowledgment. Telemetry is off by default.
