About CRAFT
CRAFT was founded by AEC engineers who got tired of managing 50 overlapping scripts that nobody trusted — and who believed that the industry deserved automation that was reviewable, repeatable, and safe by default.
Why We Are Building This
Civil 3D and Revit teams have the same experience every week: the same corridor labeling, the same door audits, the same parameter sweeps. Someone wrote a Dynamo graph or a LISP routine six months ago that did most of it. Nobody remembers exactly what it changes. Nobody trusts it enough to run on a live project. So it gets rewritten, or it gets run once and quietly left alone.
At the same time, the AI automation world is rushing in the opposite direction — more autonomous, more opaque, harder to verify. That is the wrong direction for any tool that touches a live engineering model. We built CRAFT around a different idea: AI proposes, humans approve, a rule-based compiler decides what runs, and a fail-safe safety preview blocks everything that cannot be explained in advance.
Nothing runs until you have seen exactly what it is going to do. Nothing gets promoted to your team library without a review. Every published automation is cryptographically signed and locked. You always know what is going to happen. That is the whole point.
Our Principles
Trust Is Earned Through Inspection
Every automation shows you what it reads, what it writes, and what leaves your machine before it runs. No black boxes. No "run and hope."
Local by Default
Automations run on your machine inside your CAD host. The cloud is a package registry, not an execution environment. Your project data stays on your computer.
AI Where It Helps, Controls Where It Matters
AI suggests reuse and helps classify your task. A rule-based compiler and a fail-safe safety preview decide what actually runs. AI is never the publisher.
Reuse Before Rebuild
Before CRAFT lets you author a new automation, it searches your team’s library for an existing one that already does it. Your team stops accumulating 50 overlapping scripts.
Who We Are
CRAFT was built by engineers who spent years inside Civil 3D and Revit before writing a line of product code. We know what it feels like to rewrite the same corridor labeling script for the fourth time — and to discover that the “official” version on the shared drive was last updated by someone who left the company two years ago.
CRAFT is a small, focused team. We work directly with every early access participant, we answer [email protected] personally, and we ship weekly. If you want to talk to the people actually building this, you can.
